I wonder …

… how many awesome but unfinished Skyrim fanfics will be abandoned on fourth of April.

  1. I’ve had this very thought myself. As for me, I’m at least going to finish my current fanfic (and my tarot cards) before I start on anything from ESO. Not to mention the fact that I haven’t played the game enough yet to know the world, the quests, and the characters.

    • I hope so, Wendy. Really.
But I fear that for many people it’s not so much about starting something new, but that playing the game will simply eat up tons of time initially. And interest from readers will wane too, probably.

      • I think you’re right, but I also think (hope?) Skyrim is SO popular that it may not affect it as much as you might think. I still see people writing fanfic about Oblivion and Morrowind, so there’s that; plus there are so many of us who are die-hard Skyrim fans, ESO or not. Plus, not everybody is going to get ESO, and of those who do, some of that initial interest may die off when people decide they don’t want to pay the $15 a month anymore. I know a few Skyrim fans who aren’t planning on playing ESO at all.

  2. You ever think it might spark more creativity for current and new stories? Flashbacks into the past and such things? That is what I am hoping will happen.
